PRIVACY POLICY – RIVIERA SELECTION

Riviera Selection is aware of how important the ways in which your information is used and shared are to you, and we appreciate the trust you place in us to handle it carefully and responsibly. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect and process your personal data through the websites, devices, products, services, online and physical stores, and applications of MVLFA that refer to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the “Riviera Selection Services”).

What personal data of registered customers is collected?
We collect personal data in order to provide and continually improve Riviera Selection products and Services. The categories of personal data that we collect include:

Data provided directly:
Any data you provide is stored in connection with the Riviera Selection Services. You may choose not to provide certain data; however, this may mean you are unable to fully use the Riviera Selection Services.

Data collected automatically:
We automatically collect and store certain categories of data relating to your use of the Riviera Selection Services, including your interaction with content and services available through the Riviera Selection Services. Like many other websites, we use “cookies” and other unique identifiers and obtain certain types of data when your browser or device accesses the Riviera Selection Services and other content provided by or on behalf of Riviera Selection on other websites.

Data received from other sources:
We may receive information about customers from other sources; for example, from couriers regarding updated delivery and address information, which we use to update MVLFA’s systems and to deliver future orders more easily.

How is personal data processed?
We use personal data to operate, provide and improve the services offered to our customers.

Purchase and delivery of products and services:
We use personal data to receive and manage orders, provide products and services, process payments, and communicate with you about orders, products, services and promotional offers.

Providing and improving the Riviera Selection Services and solving issues related to them:
We use personal data to provide functionality, analyse performance, correct errors and improve the usability and efficiency of the Riviera Selection Services.

Suggestions and personalisation:
We use your personal data to suggest features, products and services that may interest you, to identify your preferences and to personalise your experience with the Riviera Selection Services.

We process personal data to prevent and detect fraud and abuse, in order to protect the safety of our customers.

Compliance with legal obligations:
In some cases we collect and use your personal data to comply with our legal obligations. For example, we collect information from third-party sellers regarding their registered office and bank account details for identification and other purposes.

Communicating with the customer:
We use personal data to communicate with you in relation to the Riviera Selection Services through various channels, such as telephone, e-mail and social network chats.

Purposes for which consent is requested:
We may ask for your consent to process certain personal data for specific purposes, which we will communicate to you in such cases. Once you have given your consent to the processing of personal data for a specific purpose, you may withdraw your consent at any time, and your data will no longer be processed for that purpose.

Is personal data shared with third parties?
Customer data is a fundamental component of our business and we will never sell our customers’ personal data to third parties.

Third-party service providers:
We use other companies and individuals to perform certain activities on our behalf. For example, to deliver parcels, send postal mail and e-mail, analyse data, provide marketing support, process payments, transmit content and provide customer support services. Third-party service providers have access only to the personal data necessary to perform their activities and may not process the data for other purposes. Protection of MVLFA and others:
We disclose account data and other personal data when we believe such disclosure is required to comply with legal obligations; to enforce or apply our General Terms of Use and Sale and other agreements; or to protect the rights, property or safety of MVLFA, our users or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organisations that are involved in fraud prevention or credit risk reduction. In cases other than those listed above, you will be informed whenever your personal data is shared with third parties and you will have the opportunity to choose whether or not to allow such disclosure.

Transfers outside the European Economic Area:
We ensure that products and data are transferred in accordance with this Privacy Policy and with the applicable data protection regulations adopted by the European Commission.

How is the security of personal data ensured?
MVLFA is committed to protecting the security of personal data during transmission, using encryption protocols and software.
We comply with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) when handling your credit card data.
We adopt physical, electronic and organisational security measures with regard to the collection, storage and communication of our customers’ personal data. As part of our security procedures, you may be asked to verify your identity before we disclose personal data.
It is important that you take appropriate measures to prevent unauthorised access to your password and your devices and applications. We recommend using a unique password for your Riviera Selection account. Always make sure you log out when you have finished using a shared computer.

What personal data can you access?
You can access your personal data, including: name, address, payment options, personal profile information, settings and purchase history in the section of the website called “My Account”.

Options available to you
If you have any questions and/or concerns about how we collect and process personal data, please contact Riviera Selection customer service. Many Riviera Selection Services include settings that allow you to choose how your personal data may be used.

You may choose not to provide certain data, but this may mean you are unable to use many of the Riviera Selection Services.
When personal data is processed for a specific purpose based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time. In such case, any further processing of your personal data for that specific purpose will cease.

Under the applicable legislation, you have the right to request access to, rectification and deletion of your personal data and to exercise your right to data portability. You may also object to the processing of your personal data or request, in certain cases, the restriction of such processing. To exercise any of these rights, please contact Riviera Selection customer service at info@mvlfa.com, stating “Assistance” in the subject line.

Can minors use Riviera Selection Services?
Purchases on Riviera Selection are reserved exclusively for Italian citizens who are at least 18 years of age. Customers of foreign nationality may purchase on Riviera Selection only if they are of legal age under their national law. If there is no applicable legislation, the minimum age required is 21.

For how long is personal data stored?
We store personal data in order to allow you to use the Riviera Selection Services on an ongoing basis, for as long as necessary to pursue the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and as required by law.
We keep the transaction history so that you can review your purchases, repeat orders and view the addresses designated for receipt of orders.
Tax and commercial data will be retained in compliance with the applicable legal requirements.

EU General Data Protection Regulation – Legal bases
The European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) requires that the processing of personal data be based on a legal basis. The legal bases we use depend on the specific purpose for which personal data is processed. We use the following legal bases for processing personal data:

Performance of a contract when we provide products and services or communicate about them: this legal basis covers situations in which we use personal data to receive and manage orders, provide products and services, or process payments.

Purposes for which consent is requested: we may request your consent to process your personal data for specific purposes, which will be promptly communicated. By consenting to the processing of personal data for a specific purpose, you may subsequently withdraw your consent at any time and the data will cease to be processed for that purpose.

Our activities change constantly and our Privacy Policy is also subject to change; we recommend that you check our website regularly to see any updates. The current Privacy Policy applies to all data in our possession and to your account, unless otherwise specified. We will never materially change our policies and procedures in a way that makes them less protective of customer data already collected without first obtaining the consent of the customers concerned.

Examples of data you provide when using the Services

  • Searching for products or services in the stores;

  • Adding or removing an item from the cart, placing an order via or using the Riviera Selection Services;

  • Providing data in the account section or in the profile section: you may have more than one account if you have used more than one e-mail address or more than one telephone number when making a purchase on the Riviera Selection website;

  • Adding contacts;

  • Configuring settings, when you provide permissions for access to data or interact with the device;

  • Communicating with Riviera Selection by telephone, e-mail or otherwise;

  • Completing a support request or a prize draw/contest entry form;

  • Taking part in community features, posting and rating customer reviews.

By acting as above, you may provide the following data: name; address; telephone number; payment information; age; location information; IP address; names and contact details; contents of reviews and e-mails sent to Riviera Selection; personal description and photograph contained in the “My Profile” section; information and documents relating to identity and status; corporate and financial information; creditworthiness information; VAT number.

Data collected automatically when you use the Services

  • Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your device to the internet;

  • Login, e-mail address and password;

  • Location of the device or computer;

  • Purchase history and content usage history;

  • Full Uniform Resource Locator (URL) clickstream (including date and time); products and/or content you have viewed or searched for; page loading times, download errors, length of visits to certain pages and page interaction information (such as scrolling, clicks and mouse-over movements);

  • Telephone numbers used to call the Riviera Selection customer service number.

We may use device identifiers and other technologies on devices, applications and our web pages to collect information on browsing, usage or other technical information for fraud prevention purposes.

Data collected from other sources

We may receive data from other sources, for example:

  • Updated delivery and address information from couriers or other third parties, which Riviera Selection uses to update its records and to deliver future orders or make future communications more easily;

  • Account data, purchase or redemption information relating to codes, information on interactions with products and services;

  • Search results and links;

  • Creditworthiness data from credit bureaus, which we use to prevent and detect fraud and to offer credit or financial services to some customers.

Personal data accessible through the Riviera Selection Services

  • Status of recent orders;

  • Full order history;

  • Personally identifiable information (name, e-mail, password and communication preferences);

  • Payment settings (payment method information and promotional codes, gift cards and account balance);

  • E-mail notification settings (product availability alerts, delivery alerts, special occasion alerts and newsletters);

  • Recently viewed content;

  • Profile (product reviews, recommendations, alerts and personal profile).

COOKIES

We use cookies and other similar technologies (together, “cookies”) for the following purposes.

Functional cookies:
We use cookies to provide our services, for example to:

  • recognise you when you log in to use our services;

  • recognise you as a customer registered with the MVLFA Prime programme and provide you with other personalised features and services;

  • show you features, products and services that may interest you, including advertisements on our services relating to products and services available from MVLFA;

  • keep track of items saved in your cart;

  • prevent fraudulent activities;

  • improve security;

  • remember your preferences, such as language and currency settings.

We also use cookies to understand how our customers use our services so that we can improve them. For example, we use cookies to carry out research and evaluations in order to improve Riviera Selection content, products and services.

Authorised third parties may also set cookies when you interact with the Riviera Selection Services. Such third parties include search engines, measurement and analytics providers, social media and companies providing advertising services. These third parties use cookies when providing advertising content, including interest-based advertising, to assess the effectiveness of their ads and to provide services on behalf of MVLFA.

Further information
Functional cookies remain in your browser for 13 months from the last interaction with our services, except for cookies used to keep track of your privacy settings (such as Advertising Preferences), which may remain in your browser for up to 5 years. Other cookies remain in the browser for 13 months from when you accepted the use of cookies.

You can manage cookies by visiting the relevant section of your account after logging in. If you are not logged in, you may need to set your preferences again.

Alternatively, your browser settings will tell you how to prevent your browser from accepting new cookies, how to be notified when you receive a new cookie, how to disable and remove cookies, and how to control when they are deleted.

Functional cookies enable you to use certain essential features provided by Riviera Selection. If you block or otherwise refuse functional cookies via your browser settings, some features and services may not work. For example, you may not be able to add items to your cart, complete your order or use the Riviera Selection services that require you to log in. You may need to manually change your preferences every time you visit one of our services.

Report a suspicious communication or web page
We take phishing and spoofing attempts very seriously. If you receive correspondence, a call, SMS or e-mail that you believe may not come from MVLFA, or if a web page pretends to be Riviera Selection, please report it immediately to the following e-mail address: info@mvlfa.com, stating “Phishing” in the subject line.

Request closure of your account and deletion of your data
You can send us a request to permanently close your Riviera Selection account and delete your data. After the procedure, a confirmation notice will be sent to the e-mail address associated with your account or via SMS. You must reply within 5 days to verify your request.

Note: Once closed, your account is no longer accessible by you or anyone else and cannot be restored. If at a later time you decide to start ordering from us again or to use site features that require an account, you will need to create a new account.
